When to Escalate a Betternet Ticket?

Published Feb 1, 2019 · Updated Aug 13, 2026

Urgently take note of the following

It is of utmost importance to report any ticket or email that speaks about the following:

  • Vulnerabilities (Exposure of users data, like the name of the Wi-Fi network if connected, the real IP address, etc.)

  • Information leaks - Do not confuse with IP leak (Usernames, Passwords, Telephone numbers, Dates of birth, etc.)

  • Data Breaches (Incident wherein information is stolen or taken from a system without the knowledge or authorization of the system’s owner)

  • Security threats (A possible danger that might exploit a vulnerability to breach security and therefore cause possible harm, for example, someone telling threating to hack our application, or to publish how to hack or exploit a vulnerability)

  • Social threats (News, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Blogs, etc.)

  • Physical threats (Bombs, shootings, etc.)

  • Legal threats (User's threatening to "sue AF",  to report to the FBI, BBB, other legal instances; etc.)

Or anything like the above, this must be reported immediately to any staff available. Please note this is top priority and urgency, do not only assign the ticket but actually, find the staff member and inform him/her of such escalation.
